226. BEING FUNNY IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE by The 1975

Believe it or not, the only song I had heard by this British band prior to listening to this 2022 record was off their 2013 debut. Somehow the band never clicked with me and, so, I ended up skipping their subsequent output - up until now. After seeing this album on so many 2022 best of lists, I figured I had better give them another shot...and I'm glad I did. Probably a combination of my tastes changing over the years and the fact that this is a really good record made me want to feature it today. Lesson learned. I'm ready to start exploring their back catalog - just as soon as I get this one off repeat, that is.

Kind of in the pop rock / soft rock realm (but without the cheese), the tracks I would spin to get a taste of the record are these, in this order:  'I'm In Love With You' (the album's stand out in my opinion), 'About You' (very atmospheric, almost ethereal), 'Part Of The Band' (which was the lead off single) and 'All I Need To Hear' (a bluesy way to wind your listening session down).
