291. BIG DISGRACE by Haute and Freddy
So this record hasn't actually come out yet - it's due to be released mid-March 2026 but I just wanted to quickly throw this out there based on the tracks that have been pre-released. Haute and Freddy are a synth-pop / avant-garde duo composed of singer Michelle Buzz (who is actually from the Houston, Texas area) and instrumentalist Lance Shipp from Detroit, Michigan.
They both cut their teeth separately writing songs for various artists including Katy Perry and Britney Spears among many others. Having grown tired of writing for others they both decided to have a go at performing themselves. And that's how Haute and Freddy were born.
Listening to the tracks noted below you'll feel like you've been shot back to the 80's - in fact the duo lists Pet Shop Boys and New Order as just some of their influences. Personally, I hear a bit of Erasure and Kate Bush when I listen to their songs. Since the full album has yet to be released my recommended tracks are of course based on what I've heard so far. Try these out and let me know what you think: 'Anti-Superstar,' 'Shy Girl,' Dance the Pain Away' and 'Scantily Clad.'
