74. OUT IN THE STORM by Waxahatchee

In contrast to her 2020 record discussed here, Katie Crutchfield’s 2017 outing is filled with electric guitars and rockers. Still writing about personal themes, the music makes you feel like she really had a lot to get off her chest. Depending on which record you listen to first, you will either be surprised to hear how much she can rock out or how mellow she can get. There’s so much to like on this album, it’s hard to recommend just a few songs over just listening to the whole thing, but here goes:  ‘8 Ball,’ ‘Silver,’ ‘Sparks Fly’ and ‘Brass Beam.’
