British art rock band Pulp released this record in 1998, just a few years after their ground-breaking ‘Different Class’ came out. The Roxy Music influences are all over this album as lead singer Jarvis Cocker is, in a way, Bryan Ferry only a little less debonair and a little more Urkel. You can especially hear Roxy on ‘Party Hard.’ Other highlights (and the more accessible tracks) include, ‘Help the Aged,’ ‘A Little Soul’ and ‘I’m a Man.’ ‘Seductive Barry’ is an almost 9 minute long trance, especially if you train your ears on the hypnotizing bass line for the entire length of the song.
