When I first wrote about Geese back in 2021 they were an up and coming, scrappy indie band with an interesting debut record. Now, with this 2025 album, they are on the verge of indie rock stardom. If you've had even one ear on the indie music heartbeat this year you know what I'm talking about. In fact, this record is starting to show up on many critics' end of year best of lists, even taking the coveted best album of 2025 award on some of these lists.

While I like this record, I don't love it. However, there are definitely stand out tracks worth checking out. I think the most popular song or at least the most viral song (thanks to live videos) is 'Taxes' so I would start out with that. Look up any live version online and you'll see, around midway through the song, the crowd go crazy when the "melodic" part of the song kicks in. After that I'd move on to 'Cobra' where you will hear lead singer Cameron Winter do his best impersonation of Michael Stipe (on R.E.M.'s 'Man on the Moon') doing his best impersonation of comedian Andy Kaufman doing his best impersonation of Elvis Presley. All of this is accomplished just by Winter uttering "baby" at the beginning of the song. After those tracks, I like '100 Horses' and 'Au Pays du Cocaine.'

Of course the main reason I drew the Elvis comparison is so I could include this video, enjoy.
