128. CLICK CLICK DOMINO by Ida Mae

There’s something oddly endearing about a couple of Brits landing across the pond and into the Americana music scene. Such is the case with Nashville transplants (by way of London) Ida Mae and this recently released 2021 record. The wife/husband duo of Stephanie Jean and Chris Turpin have created a blues/folk/roots rock tapestry of songs on this album that range from folksy ballads (for example, ‘Sing a Hallelujah’) to the funk of ‘Little Liars’ (drum machine included!). Blues rock guitarist Marcus King guests on the record as does shredder Jake Kiszka (Greta Van Fleet). In addition to the aforementioned tracks, check out ‘Road to Avalon’ and ‘Line on the Page.’
