The Reds, Pinks and Purples is basically a vessel through which San Francisco singer-songwriter Glenn Donaldson gets his music out these days. He's been part of several past and present bands, continuously evolving his music and his art. This 2023 record is a short spin, clocking in at around 33 minutes, but is well worth a listen if you're into wistful, melodic, guitar-oriented indie music.

For those of you who've kept up with my tastes through my previous posts, it will come as no surprise to see me recommend some of the slower numbers on this album. So, start out with 'Here Comes the Lunar Hand' - if you listen to this track with headphones you'll especially appreciate the subtle guitar in the background throughout the entire length of the song. If you're into something a bit more fast-paced I'll throw you a couple of bones with 'Burning Sunflowers' and 'Leave It All Behind.' Finally, bring it back down with album closer, 'Break Up the Band.'
